Every institution affiliated to RedIRIS must appoint at least one RedIRIS Contact Person (PER); he or she will act as intermediary between users of the institution and RedIRIS. This person will be the focal point for active and fluid communication between RedIRIS and the institution; it is therefore desirable that he or she have technical know-how and an appropriate relationship with the managers of his or her institution, both at management and at operational level.

Given the importance of this figure, it is essential that PER related data be updated whenever necessary, and that all incidents be reported.

The PER is responsible for ensuring that RedIRIS information reaches the users of the organisation to which he or she belongs, especially the notifications received via the IRIS-PERS list.
